Frequently Asked Questions

What equipment do you use for photographing the universe?

An 8"Newtonian reflector on an equatorial mount with a QHY168c camera, and a ZWO Seestar S50 smart telescope. I intend to use the Seestar to capture the solar eclipse in 2028.

How long have you been a photographer?

I first learnt photography at the age of 12; 50 odd years ago. Astronomy and weather have been childhood passions where I have been able to shoot objects in the universe that adorned my childhood astronomy books.

The Andromeda Galaxy and the Trifid Nebula as seen on this site are examples.
